Manchester City has confirmed that Claudio Bravo will leave the club this summer after four years at the Etihad Stadium.
After four years, 61 appearances and 20 clean sheets Claudio Bravo is calling time on his career at Manchester City.
The shot-stopper was brought in from Barcelona by Pep Guardiola. Bravo was a pioneer of the “sweeper-keeper” and according to the club was the perfect fit for Guardiola’s paying out of the back system.
However, following an injury that ruled him out for almost a year, he returned to full fitness to find he had been replaced.
The Chilean international saw his playing time diminish at the Etihad Stadium, with Ederson assuming the role of number one. He was limited to just four league appearances this past season.
The club confirmed his departure in an official statement on their website.
“Claudio Bravo has left Manchester City.”
“Everybody at Manchester City would like to thank Claudio for his four years at the Club and wish him good fortune in his future endeavors.”
With talk of Pep Guardiola signing three players this summer, will it now become four and a new back up goalie joining the Cityzens?
