Manchester City were treated with a heavy hand by UEFA but club Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak shared there are no ill-feelings between them.
UEFA gave Manchester City a two-year ban for Financial Fair Play irregularities. It was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in July.
Following their acquittal, Pep Guardiola had asked for apologies towards the club. The Catalan’s demands have been rendered excessive by City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
The City Football Group founder shared that life is ‘too short’ and they have to move on. Khaldoon only had praises for UEFA and hailed the organization os one of the best in the sporting world.
Manchester City were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarterfinal stage. Khaldoon reiterated the club’s ambition of winning the elite European club competition and competing against the best.
“Life is too short to carry grudges,” BBC quoted Khaldoon.
“Life is too short to carry grudges,” the UAE native added. “It is an important competition. It is one of the most prestigious competitions in the world of sports and it is a competition we want to win and it is a competition we have to respect in order to win.”
“And this was a challenge. It’s behind us, end of story as far as I am concerned.”
“I am focused on one thing – how I can help this club compete in this competition and win it, and how to have a constructive relationship with UEFA. I think it’s the only way to go.”
