Pulisic has found a solid start to his career at Milan after leaving Chelsea.

Christian Pulisic should “absorb” AC Milan’s history to become a leader at the club, according to Marcel Desailly.

After spending a difficult 2022-23 season at Chelsea, Pulisic decided to leave the Premier League side to join Milan. A brilliant pre-season campaign has allowed Pulisic to quickly find his place in Stefano Pioli’s squad.

The 25-year-old has registered four goals and one assist in his eight displays for the Rossoneri. But Desailly believes the USMNT star is yet to reach his peak form at San Siro.

“Christian Pulisic needs time to understand and accept the leadership that we’re asking of him,” the former Milan star told Football Italia.

“He wasn’t playing all the time at Chelsea, and coming into Milan, he needs to understand and absorb the history of the club.

“San Siro is a magnificent garden where you have to digest the intensity of what is required every weekend. So, they don’t have the foundation yet.”

Pulisic has joined USMNT for their upcoming matches against Germany and Ghana. After the international break, Milan will return to action with a crucial Serie A match against Juventus on October 22.
