The Denmark star has shared a moving update on his well-being with fans from the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Christian Eriksen has assured fans he feels ‘fine’ in his first social media post since suffering a cardiac arrest.
The Inter Milan midfielder shared a post on Instagram on Tuesday morning from his hospital bed to thank all his well-wishers and update them on his condition since collapsing on the pitch on Saturday.
Eriksen assured he is alright and is awaiting further tests at the hospital.
“Hello everyone,” he posted.
“Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family.
“I’m fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.
“Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark. Best, Christian.”
Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest in the 42nd-minute of Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland on Saturday in Copenhagen.
The match came to an immediate halt as medical staff administered treatment to resuscitate the 29-year-old before stretching him off the pitch.
Denmark team doctor Morten Boesen, meanwhile, has assured Eriksen’s medical results are normal so far and praised the quick reaction from the medics as ‘decisive’.
