Bayern Munich continued their winning ways after the international break, and it was Eric Choupo-Moting who grabbed the headlines.
Bayern Munich were missing some of their star names when they took to the pitch for the DFB Pokal clash against Duren, but little did it affect the team’s morale and performance.
In the absence of the notable goalscorers Robert Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, it was Eric Choupo-Moting who stepped up to be the difference-maker for his new side.
Choupo-Moting hit a brace, with his two goals sandwiched between Thomas Muller’s strike from the spot, to guide Bayern to a resounding 3-0 win.
Thursday night marked the first appearance in Bayern colors for the Cameroonian forward having joined the club earlier this month after quitting Paris Saint-Germain.
“It was a nice evening,” stated Choupo-Moting after the full-time whistle speaking to Sky Sports, via Goal.
“I am happy to be back in Germany and glad I scored two goals. It was a good debut.”
Manuel Neuer, David Alaba, Benjamin Pavard, Corentin Tolisso, Lucas Hernandez, Kingsley Coman, Leon Goretzka, Niklas Sule, also remained absent from last night’s outing.
Up next for Bayern is the Bundesliga clash against Arminia away from home on Saturday.
