Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the Group D FIFA Women’s World Cup match at Hindmarsh Stadium.

England defeated China 6-1 to advance to the World Cup’s last-16 stage as Group D winners.

In an action-packed match, England stole the show with three first-half goals. Lauren James set Alessia Russo up for a fourth-minute opening goal. The forward wasn’t done there though. She first cut open China’s defense to allow Lauren Hemp to score, before curling in a free-kick.

Wang Shuang did pull a goal back for China with a 57th-minute penalty, but James restored England’s three-goal advantage with her second of the game just eight minutes later. She then assisted substitute Chloe Kelly for a fifth team goal, before Rachel Daly’s late effort sealed a 6-1 victory.

With this result, England have won Group D. The Lionesses got maximum points from three games, six points above third-placed China. They’ll face Group B runners-up Nigeria in the last-16 next Monday in Brisbane.
