During an interview with Soccer AM, Ben Chilwell decided to compare Timo Werner with two of the best Premier League strikers right now.

The Premier League can now say they have a striker like Timo Werner, who was just compared to the best by Ben Chilwell. He arrived from RB Leipzig last summer as one of Frank Lampard’s special requests for the new season. Adaptation to English football hasn’t been that complicated for him as his teammates can confirm. Ben Chilwell is surprised by Timo’s quality as a striker, which is why he decided to compare him to some of the best in the business.

As we all know, both Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane have been two of the most consistent forward of the last five years. Chilwell is convinced that Timo is at their level but he didn’t mention any of Liverpool’s forwards for some strange reason. Regardless, comparing Werner to these two England stars is high praise in any case.

Chilwell thinks Timo is similar to both.

Ahead of England’s upcoming Nations League match against Belgium, Chilwell offered an interview to speak about everything. “I’d already say he’s up there with the two [Kane and Vardy] and he can definitely go on to be absolutely world-class for a long time for the next 10 years or so,” Chilwell told Soccer AM.

“I think when you look at his age and how prolific he is in front of goal, even now his start at Chelsea he’s scored a lot of goals already. Just in front of goal he’s so good. He has similar characteristics to both Vardy and Harry to be fair. In terms of running the channels and how quick he is it’s similar to Vardy. With Harry his link-up play and his finishing are similar. He’s definitely in a category with them two.”
