The former Juventus defender advises his former club to add a new winger to their ranks.
Juventus should sign Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic as their’ third winger’ this summer, according to Giorgio Chiellini.
Pulisic struggled for game time under Thomas Tuchel last season, with English media claiming he is keen to leave Chelsea this summer.
The Blues have also stepped up their efforts to add new players to their attacking line. Raheem Sterling is on the verge of joining Chelsea, while the club is also pushing to sign Leeds’ Raphinha.
Chiellini believes Bianconeri must use the opportunity to make a bid for the USMNT star.
“Honestly, it’s the first time I heard it, but I think Juventus needs some winger such as Pulisic,” Chiellini, who has recently joined LAFC, told ESPN.
“Pulisic is very good. I think when he starts from the side and comes inside, and with the injury of Chiesa — he [will] surely still return, but not before September, and in the first months, surely he can play every game.
“With the [arrival] of Angel Di Maria, Pulisic could be the fantastic third winger for Juventus. He has improved year by year, he did a fantastic season in Chelsea.”
Following the departure of Alvaro Morata, Juventus might shift their focus toward signing a new centre-forward this summer. Luis Suarez has reportedly offered his services to the Bianconeri, but the club are yet to start negotiating with the former Barcelona star.
