Graham Potter has provided fitness updates on two Chelsea stars.
Reece James and Wesley Fofana are both close to full recovery from their respective injuries, according to Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
James missed the World Cup after suffering a knee injury in Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Milan in October.
Fofana was also ruled out of the Qatar tournament with an injury that has kept him out of action for most of the season.
However, the Blues might see the pair return sooner than expected due to their progress in recent weeks.
“Reece is not quite fully training but he’s integrating into training along with Wesley,” he said.
“Wesley is a little bit further behind but not too far.”
Asked about Ben Chilwell, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s injuries, he responded: “Kepa is not quite with the team yet but has stepped up his rehab.
“Ruben is doing some work in the gym so we’re hopeful that he can be involved next week but we’ll see how he goes.
“There are lots of players at different levels and that’s the challenge but we’re making progress so that’s the positive.”
Chelsea will meet Aston Villa in a friendly match next Sunday. The Blues will return to Premier League action when they take on Bournemouth in a home game on December 27.
