Ace Football previews the Premier League game between Chelsea and Wolves and offers betting tips, odds, line-ups and team news.

Chelsea welcome Wolves to Stamford Bridge in their first game of the post-Frank Lampard era. All eyes will be on new manager Thomas Tuchel as the German seeks to start his new job on a high.

Both teams are on ‘poor’ league form at the moment with only one win respectively in their last five games.

However, Chelsea are looking the more likely to win with a strong lineup expected on home turf tonight.

Wolves have lost back to back league games in 2021 and conceded at least two goals in both defeats. They’ll be hoping to avoid a third successive defeat on the bounce as they take on the Blues who have slipped to 10th place.

A win for Chelsea could take them back to eighth place and that would be high on the agenda in Thomas Tuchel’s first game with the West London side.

Chelsea Form and Stats

Chelsea have won three of their last four matches with two of those coming in the FA Cup. The Blues won 4-0 at home against Morecambe in the FA Cup with Mason Mount, Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz on target.

The Blues then won 1-0 at Fulham in the Premier League. Mount scored the winner in the 78th minute after the hosts were reduced to 10 men.

Chelsea lost 2-0 at Leicester despite having 64% possession and 9-8 shots. They bounced back at home in the FA Cup, beating Luton 3-1 with Tammy Abraham scoring all three goals.

Key Team Stats
  • Chelsea have won by 2+ goals in their last 2 home matches (FA Cup).

  • Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham scored 3 goals in his last match (FA Cup).

Wolves Form and Stats

Wolves are winless in six Premier League matches which includes four defeats and two draws. Wolves drew 3-3 at Brighton before a 1-0 home win against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side then lost 2-1 at home against Everton before another home defeat, this time 3-2 against lowly West Brom after throwing away a 2-1 lead at half-time.

Wolves booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup after a 1-0 win at Chorley. Vitinha scored an early winner against the National League club.

Wolves won this fixture back in December but the chances of a double seem rather slim based on their current form.

Key Team Stats
  • Wolves have lost their last 2 matches (Premier League).
  • Wolves have lost 3 of their last 4 away matches (Premier League).
  • Wolves have only two points from their last 5 games (Premier League).
