The Chelsea manager has reportedly asked the club to pursue a deal for Eder Militao next summer.

Three Chelsea players will run out of contract in the summer, with no prospect of an imminent renewal for any of them. Real Madrid has been eyeing a move for Anthonio Rudiger, while Barcelona and Bayern Munich are closely following Andreas Christensen’s situation. Cesar Azpilicueta has fewer suitors, but he is also present on Barca’s list for defensive reinforcements.

According to AS, the situation has led to the club considering defensive options for the next summer. Thomas Tuchel has reportedly requested the club to pursue a deal for Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao.

Following a €50m move from Porto, the Brazil international has developed himself as a key player for the Blancos. The Spanish source claims Chelsea’s hierarchy are also fans of Militao, planning to lure him away from the Spanish giants.

Militao is currently among the lowest-paid players in Real Madrid’s squad. The English club can avoid Rudiger’s huge salary demands while replacing him with a younger option. Militao’s current contract at Real Madrid will expire in 2025.

The 24-year-old is, however, happy with his life in Madrid, which might affect Chelsea’s chances of signing him.

“I am fulfilling a dream in Madrid,” he told AS on December 29.

“Ancelotti has been very important to me. He has given me the confidence that every player needs,

“I try to continue learning every day. I have very beautiful moments ahead with Real Madrid and with Titte’s National Team.”
