The Blues reached a quick agreement with Man City for Cole Palmer’s transfer.
Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of signing Cole Palmer from Manchester City.
Since making his senior debut in September 2020, Palmer has established himself as one of City’s most promising youngsters. The 21-year-old has already made 41 appearances for the Citizens. But it seems the club are ready to sell him before the transfer window deadline.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Palmer on a £40m deal plus £5m add-ons. Negotiations reportedly started on Wednesday, with Palmer’s move being agreed less than 12 hours later.
Palmer becomes the latest addition to Chelsea’s midfield line, which has been already bolstered by the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
The Blues are expected to stay active in the transfer market after completing Palmer’s transfer. According to the Telegraph, the likes of Ansu Fati, Raphinha, and even Emile Smith-Rowe are still among Chelsea’s targets.
Man City, on the other hand, receive almost a similar fee to what they have agreed to pay for Matheus Nunes. The Portuguese midfielder is expected to complete his move to Etihad in the coming days after Wolves accepted a £47m offer.
