Chelsea have a worry ahead of their Tottenham clash after Thomas Tuchel revealed Kai Havertz and Zouma are doubts for the game.
Kai Havertz faces a race in time to be fit for Chelsea’s clash against Tottenham in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed the German midfielder suffered from a “little issue” in training on Wednesday.
Havertz is yet to get final clearance from the Chelsea medics and could yet miss the Spurs match.
Defender Kurt Zouma is also a doubt for the match, though he is yet to feature since Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard.
Tuchel said in a press conference per the club’s website: “We have had two little issues. Kurt Zouma and Kai Havertz went off today with little issues. They are being checked now. Everybody else is available.”
Timo Werner will be hoping to end his goal drought against Spurs and Tuchel also made a comment on his struggling compatriot.
“With every player, and all strikers, we try to create a bond and a relationship. Every guy is different, need something different.”
“Some need you close, others like to be alone. So we find out what suits him to feel comfortable and to open up. We want him to feel comfortable on the pitch and it’s our responsibility to create moments for him.”
