The Blues are closing in on their sixth summer signing after reaching an agreement.

Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed on terms for the transfer of Robert Sanchez, according to The Athletic.

Sanchez will take a medical soon to complete his London move. Chelsea will pay Brighton a fee of around £25 million for the Spanish goalkeeper.

This will be the sixth deal Chelsea have completed for this summer. Christopher Nkunku, Angelo Gabriel, Nicolas Jackson, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Diego Moreira have all joined the West London club.

Sanchez, who is 25 years old, will bring some serious competition to Chelsea, especially after Edouard Mendy’s transfer to Al Ahli in June. He will hope to challenge Kepa Arrizabalaga for the No. 1 jersey.

The move will also reunite Sanchez with Ben Roberts, a goalkeeping coach he worked with at Brighton.

Sanchez has made 90 appearances for Brighton in all competitions, keeping 29 clean sheets. He played 23 games in the Premier League last season. However, while he managed to hold down six clean sheets, he lost his spot in the team to Jason Steele after Robert De Zerbi became the club’s manager.
