The Blues defender scored his second Premier League goal of the season on route to a 3-0 win.

Antonio Rudiger has revealed he promised his son that he would score in Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Leicester City.

The German defender took just 14 minutes to deliver on his promise when he headed in a Ben Chilwell corner to put Chelsea in front at the King Power Stadium.

N’Golo Kante and second-half substitute Christian Pulisic added two more goals to seal the Blues a 3-0 win victory.

“I felt confident going into this game and I promised my son that I would score, definitely, and I did. It is good and I helped the team, it was a very good performance,” Rudiger told the Chelsea 5th Stand app.

“We analyzed them and saw this is a weakness of them, and we capitalized on this. We worked on it and we scored, it’s good.”

The 3-0 win has moved Chelsea four points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table. Manchester City can reduce the Blues’ lead to three points if they beat Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Tuchel’s side return to action on Tuesday for a Champions League match against Juventus at Stamford Bridge.
