The Blues are close to adding a new winger to their ranks ahead of the next season.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed to personal terms with Raheem Sterling, who is keen to secure a move to Stamford Bridge.
The England international’s current contract at Man City will expire next summer. The Premier League champions have offered a contract extension to the Chelsea-linked star.
However, according to 90min, Sterling has informed Chelsea of his decision to leave the club this summer.
Sterling has reportedly agreed to join Chelsea ahead of the next season. However, talks between the two Premier League giants is still not over.
In a similar situation to Gabriel Jesus, Sterling will most likely leave City to continue his career in London. Both players refused to sign contract renewals and asked the club to sell them this summer.
According to several English sources, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has considered Sterling among his top-priority targets this summer.
Leeds United’s Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele are also on Chelsea’s radar. The club might intensify their efforts to sign them once they secure Sterling’s move in the coming days.
Chelsea will most likely pay a fee of around £50m for Sterling, hoping to add him to their ranks before travelling to America for their pre-season campaign.
