The Blues have struggled to improve their goal numbers in recent weeks.

Graham Potter believes Chelsea need to focus on creating chances as they have enough quality in their squad to convert them.

Potter’s men claimed their first victory since January 15 when they defeated Leeds United 1-0 on Saturday. A second-half goal from Wesley Fofana was enough to ease the pressure on Potter.

The Blues must now prepare for their battle against Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their last-16 tie in the Champions League.

“If you create chances the goals will come because the quality of the players is there,” Potter said.

“I’m delighted for the players and for the supporters because they are the most important in the football club.”

He added: “It’s really good for the players to win and to keep a clean sheet. It gives us confidence…as we prepare for a massive game on Tuesday.”

Chelsea will push to make a comeback from their 1-0 defeat in the first leg. The Blues made 21 shots during the game in Germany but weren’t able to find an equalizer.

Following the UCL match, Potter’s side will return to the Premier League, where they take on Leicester City next Saturday.
