Moises Caicedo’s possible arrival has cast doubt over Gallagher’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettinho has insisted Conor Gallagher is still part of his Chelsea plans for the next season.

Gallagher found a regular spot in Chelsea’s lineup last season, making 45 appearances for the Blues across all competition. His performances have attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides, including West Ham and Tottenham, ahead of the next campaign.

The Hammers even made a £40m bid for the midfielder earlier this summer, but Chelsea rejected the offer. Speaking in a press conference on Wednesday, Pochettino said of Gallagher’s possible departure: “In football, anything can happen.

“Now I am happy with him and his performance there are still two years on his contract. I’m happy with him and his performance. At the moment there’s nothing to say.”

Chelsea are in negotiations with Brighton over a move for Moises Caicedo. According to the Athletic, the Seagulls have already rejected a £70m offer from Chelsea for the Frenchman.

Pochettino confirmed the Blues are looking to bolster their midfield line ahead of the next season.

“We need to add some player there [midfield],” he added. “We need one more with experience.

“That is the idea. We are working, the club is working on that. At the moment we are working to reinforce that area and other areas also. The players that are here on the tour are in our plan.”
