The Blues are eager to offload Lukaku before the transfer window’s deadline.
Romelu Lukaku trains with Chelsea’s U21 squad as he struggles to complete a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Inter were negotiating with Chelsea to sign the striker on a permanent contract. But Lukaku’s secret negotiations with Juventus convinced the Nerazzurri to call off the move. Then came an opportunity for Lukaku to join Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, which was rejected by the Belgian star.
Juventus have maintained their interest in signing Lukaku, with sources claiming they are keen to sell Dusan Vlahovic to Chelsea as part of a potential deal. However, the negotiations have been more difficult than expected, leaving Lukaku stranded at Stamford Bridge.
Juventus’ latest offer includes swapping Vlahovic for Lukaku plus receiving an additional fee of £30m. The Blues have shown no interest in accepting the bid despite their squad’s need for a new striker.
Reports from the English media claim there has been no contact between Lukaku and Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino. Lukaku continues to train with the U21 squad, not participating in any senior training sessions.
As the transfer window deadline approaches, Chelsea are getting more impatient with Lukaku’s situation. Let’s see if the Belgian star will end up joining a new club for the 2023-24 season.
