After another fantastic performance last weekend, Hakim Ziyech’s magical left foot was praised by one of Chelsea’s biggest legends ever.
Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech is starting to give off vibes of a player who can definitely become the club’s offensive leader. Even though the squad already has many incredible players, the Moroccan playmaker is arguably the one with the most skilled set. In football history, some of the best players who ever lived were left-footed.
We currently have Lionel Messi as one of the absolute best but we can go down memory lane to find some incredible talents. Diego Maradona also comes to mind and Ziyech definitely has the necessary skill with his left foot to do great things at Chelsea. Just last weekend, he delivered two impressive assists that few players in the world can provide for their teammates.
It’s the kind of passing ability that sets you apart from the rest and is extremely hard to find. Another Chelsea leftie is very aware of Ziyech’s skill as he praised the star in a recent interview. We are talking about Ashley Cole, who won the Champions League in 2012 with the Blues.
Cole thinks Ziyech can become a super star.
Ashley recalled Ziyech’s presentation from a few years ago, when he still played for Ajax: “We saw the quality of [Ziyech] last year in the Champions League and the impact he had at Ajax, and he has gone under the radar a bit due to the [pre-season] injury,” Cole told Chelsea’s website.
“But he has come back now and he looks fit, he looks like he is enjoying the way Frank plays, and enjoying playing with his team-mates here. He is using that wand of a left foot to perfection at times and he pulled the strings [against Sheffield United]. So I think he is a big player for Chelsea.”
“Ziyech likes to pop inside and give James the space to attack which is a strength of his, and it is difficult to mark when you come into those little pockets and little areas. Then when Ziyech gets on his left foot, he has great runners like Timo Werner who loves to run off the center-back’s shoulder with the quality that he has, so it is exciting watching them in attacking form. But also I am happy that yes, Chelsea conceded a goal, but they are definitely looking defensively stronger and more solid as a unit now.”
