According to a recent report, Chelsea are among the four clubs interested in signing Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez.
It’s that time of the season once again. With the transfer window just around the corner, you can expect a new link just about every day. As usual, Chelsea are always one of the active sides in the transfer market. Just about every player is linked to the Blues and the latest making the rounds is Lucas Vazquez.
The Real Madrid star will see his current contract with Los Blancos expire at the end of the season.
As per Spanish outlet Sport, cited by Sport Witness, Real Madrid want to keep Vazquez at the club but the player is refusing to entertain the club’s offer.
The La Liga side have offered him a three-year contract, with a ‘reduction of 10 percent’ on the €3.5m net salary he earns annually.
Vazquez believes he deserves an increase if anything and that could lead to him looking for another challenge elsewhere.
The same report claims that Bayern Munich are strongly interested in the Spanish midfielder and are currently the favorites for his signature. Chelsea, Manchester United and two other unnamed Premier League sides are also in the race to sign the Los Blancos star.
The Blues are reportedly willing to offer him a better salary, since he would be a free agent by the end of the season.
If Chelsea are to stand a chance of signing Vazquez, it appears they must significantly improve the player’s current wages.
