After close consideration and a few attempts, Chelsea keeps working hard in order to make one final offer for one of Sevilla FC’s stars.
As we enter the final week of the summer transfer window, Chelsea FC is doing everything possible to make a final offer for a Sevilla star. We all know that the Blues are trying to sign Jules Kounde but they needed to offload some players first. Initially, they made a €60 million offer to sign him but the Spanish side declined. They know they have one of the potentially top defenders in the world playing for them. However, they are not willing to let Kounde leave for a cheap price.
If they accept an offer, it won’t be less than €70 million. At least. With this in mind, Thomas Tuchel asked Marina Granovskaia to help the squad sell some of their players to the best possible bidders in European football. Today, we got confirmation of at least three new exits that can facilitate Jules Kounde’s arrival to Chelsea within the next 72 hours. It appears we will finally get to watch the French defender wearing Blue. But which players is Chelsea offloading in order to bring Jules on board?
The Blues get rid of three defenders.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Jules Kounde’s offer will come after the deal for three players is closed. Kurt Zouma is the one they are selling for the highest amount of money. West Ham United is working hard in order to land his transfer for €30 million. We might even get confirmation of his exit within the next 24 hours. To that exit, we can also add Davide Zappacosta. The Italian full-back agreed to play for Atalanta for €10 million.
Last but not least, Ikey Ugbo agreed to play for Genk in a €7.5 million deal. Adding to the numbers, Chelsea has €47.5 million to add to the already impressive €60 million offer they previously made for Kounde. However, they won’t offer all the money at once. It is expected they will first offer around €70 million and move up from that number in the following days. Chelsea finally will get the centre-back he’s been asking for months.
