The Blues begin their new league campaign next month, with a London derby awaiting on opening day.

Chelsea are all fired up for 2021-22 as the players are feeling “hungry and sharp” ahead of the new season, says Hakim Ziyech.

Chelsea played Bournemouth on Tuesday as part of their pre-season warm-up, coming from behind to secure a 2-1 win at Dean Court.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are now two for two in their pre-season routine as they had cruised to a 6-1 victory over Peterborough United last week.

Up next for them is a match against rivals Arsenal, and a friendly against Tottenham will follow.

The Champions League titleholders will then face off with Europa League champions Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup final before beginning their Premier League campaign on August 14.

“I’m feeling great, sharp. I think for everybody, the days off that we’ve had have been good. Right now we can show our best, we are all hungry and sharp,” Ziyech told Chelsea TV.

“The biggest thing is getting back the rhythm again, getting back to being fit again, to get the minutes in the leg. That’s the most important thing, to get ready for the real work.

“It’s always nice for the confidence but it’s not the biggest thing in the first place.

“We are enjoying every moment on the pitch right now, especially with the crowd back in the stadiums. It was a nice evening.”
