The Blues will lose four players for free this summer amid their plans for squad recruitment.
Chelsea have announced Andreas Christensen, Danny Drinkwater, and two other members of their squad will leave this summer.
All four players will reach the expiration dates of their contracts this summer, ending their spells at Stamford Bridge.
Christensen has already reached an agreement to join Barcelona, with the Catalans reportedly planning to announce his signing soon.
The Dane’s exit marks the second significant departure in Chelsea’s backline this summer. Antonio Rudiger also left the club as free agent, selecting Real Madrid as his next club.
The Blues have also confirmed Danny Drinkwater will not extend his deal at the club.
The English midfielder joined Chelsea from Leicester City after their Premier League triumph in 2017. However, he never managed to establish himself in the Blues’ squad, spending most of his contract on loan spells.
In addition to the two first-team players, Belgian winger Charly Musonda will also leave the club this summer. He managed to make a few first-team appearances for the Blues but never found a regular spot in the squad.
The last player on Chelsea’s exit list is Jake Clarke-Salter. The former England U21 international spent loan spells at Birmingham and Coventry over the past few seasons. However, his efforts were not enough to secure him a spot in the Blues’ first-team squad.
