The newly-signed defender left Leicester after a lengthy transfer saga.

Wesley Fofana has criticized Brendan Rodgers after completing a move to Chelsea.

The Blues signed Fofana on an initial fee of £70m, adding him to their reinforced defensive line for the ongoing season.

The Frenchman arrives at Stamford Bridge after a successful spell at Leicester City. However, his transfer saga has caused problems between him and his former manager.

Fofana rarely provided an update on his future since the start of the current transfer window. However, Rodgers had excluded the Frenchman from his squad while publicly speaking about the transfer.

“I chose not to communicate during this transfer window despite all the criticism and all the often false and misleading comments, even when they were coming from the club, I understood and I learned,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I didn’t want to damage the image of the institution and I chose to take it rather than answer. I thank Top [Leicester chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha] for his understanding, thanks to the managers, to the coach who has always appreciated me, even if he chose to expose me a lot lately, I got it coach.”

Fofana will have a chance to make his Chelsea debut when they face West Ham on Saturday.
