Tiemoue Bakayoko has failed to secure a place in Chelsea’s lineup since arriving at Stamford Bridge on a £40m move.
Tiemoue Bakayoko’s agent has broken the silence on his client’s situation as he spends a loan deal from Chelsea at Milan.
Bakayoko joined Chelsea on a £40m move from Monaco in the summer of 2017.
Having won the Ligue 1 with the French giants, Bakayoko arrived with high expectations at Stamford Bridge. But his poor form forced Chelsea to send him out on several loan deals.
In the past four years, the Frenchman has played for Monaco, Napoli and AC Milan on loan spells.
The Rossoneri put a purchase clause in Bakayoko’s two-year loan contract. But they will most likely avoid keeping the 28-year-old, who is yet to make his first appearance this season.
Speaking to Tuttomercato, Bakayoko’s agent Marco Busiello said: “It’s a situation that makes me sad because this transfer was strongly wanted.
“He’s joined many clubs on loan over the last few years, so he had to adapt to a new club every year.
“He was happy to join Milan on a two-year deal with an obligation to buy under certain conditions.
“However, it didn’t work for many reasons, injuries or good performances from other players. The current status is bad for all the parties and I am sorry about it.”
Asked about the Frenchman’s next move, Busiella added: “We’ll see, we’ll make our assessments with Milan and see which are the opportunities. He has another year with Chelsea after the current one, we’ll make our assessments together.”
