The Blues are keen to kick-start their summer spending by adding a new forward to their team.

Chelsea are reportedly getting closer to securing a transfer for Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.

The Blues joined the transfer race for the English winger during the final stages of the last season. It is not a secret that City are considering offers for Sterling, with Chelsea being in pole position to sign him.

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are planning to finalize Sterling’s deal in the coming days. The English outlet claims the England international will receive a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Mirror have also confirmed Chelsea’s interest in Sterling, claiming the 27-year-old is in the process of selling his £4.5million Cheshire home to Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Sterling will most likely join the Blues as Hakim Ziyech’s replacement. The Morocco international has failed to live up to expectations since his £36m in 2020, with Chelsea trying to sell him this summer.

Italian media have widely reported about AC Milan’s interest in signing Ziyech. The former Ajax star will reportedly join the Rossoneri on a loan deal with an obligation to but for £21m.

Chelsea’s name has also emerged among Cristiano Ronaldo’s suitors. New club owner Todd Boehly reportedly met Ronaldo’s agent last week.

According to The Times, Man Utd want at least £12.9m for the Chelsea-linked superstar, which is what they paid Juventus for his move last summer.
