The German manager is the favourite candidate to replace Graham Potter at Chelsea.
Chelsea are reportedly in negotiations with Julian Nagelsmann to hire him as their next manager.
A disappointing run of results has seen the Blues slip to the 11th spot on the Bundesliga table.
Graham Potter hoped to get Chelsea back on track after the international break. But a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa convinced the club’s hierarchy to part ways with him on Sunday.
The Blues have started their search for a new boss, with interim manager Bruno Saltor taking charge at Stamford Bridge.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Nagelsmann has emerged as Chelsea’s main candidate to replace Potter. The Sky Sports journalist claims the German manager is “100% open” to discussing his potential project at Chelsea.
However, the likes of Luis Enrique and Ruben Amorim are not off the table, as the Blues might not reach an agreement with Nagelsmann.
Bayern announced their surprising decision on March 24, firing the manager while he was on vacation. The club then confirmed former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel as their next coach a day later.
The new Chelsea owners have sacked two coaches since taking over the club in the summer. The club’s hierarchy is reportedly keen to hire a boss with a clear long-term project.
Chelsea will play under Saltor in their upcoming league game against Liverpool. The new manager, however, could arrive before the Blues’ crucial Champions League match against Real Madrid on April 12.
