Let’s take a look at the Player Ratings from the Premier League match between Chelsea and Norwich City at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea gave a performance worthy of their place on top of the Premier League by smashing seven goals past a helpless Norwich.

Despite Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner’s absences, goals were not a problem. Chelsea completely obliterated their opponents to take a commanding first-half lead. Norwich were penned down in their own half for most of the match and their attacks rarely came to anything.

Instead, it was pretty much a one-team show. Jorginho teed up Mason Mount for the opening goal just eight minutes into the game to put Chelsea in control. Callum Hudson Odoi doubled their lead 10 minutes later by finishing a wonderful Mateo Kovacic pass from the halfway line.

A home win was inevitable, even before the break. The moment Mount turned provider to set Reece James up for his second goal of the season handed the Blues a three-goal and left the feeling there was simply no going back for Norwich.

But if things weren’t already bad enough for the visitors, they got a lot worse past the hour-mark. First, Max Aarons scored an own goal after a deflection from Hudson Odoi’s cross. Then, three minutes later, Ben Gibson got a second yellow card to leave them down to 10-men at Stamford Bridge.

5-0 down, and a man out, the Canaries probably just wanted the referee to blow the final whistle already. It was a miserable afternoon, even by their standards this season. But Mount was far from done. The England international doubled Norwich’s misery by adding two more goals in the final five minutes to complete a hat-trick – the first of his Premier League career.

The midfielder’s treble capped off a dominant display for Thomas Tuchel’s men. They have now extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points from Liverpool – who face Manchester United on Sunday.

Norwich, meanwhile, stay rock bottom in 20th on a mere two points from nine games.
