The Blues returned to winning ways with an easy home victory against Sheffield.

Chelsea defeated Sheffield United 2-0 in their Premier League game on Saturday. Two second-half goals ensured the Blues’ win at Stamford Bridge.

What happened?

Despite Sheffield’s bright start to the game, Chelsea gradually took control of the possession and increased the pressure on the visitors’ backline.

Nicholas Jackson came the closest to scoring the opener for the hosts in the 43rd minute, but his shot went wide as the two teams went into the break on the back of a goalless draw.

The course of the game changed, however, when the second half began. Chelsea broke the deadlock when Cole Palmer smashed Raheem Sterling’s low cross into the back of the net in the 54th minute.

Only seven minutes later, the Blues doubled their lead through Nicolas Jackson. This time, an assist from Palmer was converted by Jackson from close range to make it 2-0 for the hosts.

Chelsea continued their attacks in the final 30 minutes of the game but failed to convert their chances as they settled for a 2-0 victory.
