Stamford Bridge was the place where Real Madrid visited Chelsea in the Champions League’s semifinal. We have tonight’s player ratings.

Real Madrid and Chelsea met at Stamford Bridge for the second UEFA Champions League semifinal match. The Blues are going through their impressive revival story that took them less than a season to complete. After Frank Lampard proved he wasn’t the ideal manager for the Blues, Thomas Tuchel took on the challenge from Roman Abramovich. The German manager reached last season’s final but lost against a powerful Bayern Munich. Today, he had to play against Real Madrid’s history with the home advantage in his favor.

From the first minute of the game, it was clear that the Blues were the overall better squad. Sergio Ramos’ return wasn’t the ideal moment Zidane was expecting as he was overshadowed by N’Golo Kante. The short French midfielder was the absolute man of the match with a tireless engine running through his entire body. During the first half, his recoveries were the reason the Blues scored the opening goal through Timo Werner after a brilliant move from Kai Havertz.

Kante takes Chelsea to the final.

During the second half, Thibaut Courtois became the man of the match with a brilliant display that kept Los Blancos in the fight until the final moments of the game. There was a feeling that Chelsea was forgiving the Spanish giants and we all know you can’t do that with Real Madrid. However, Kante decided he wanted to play his first Champions League final and made the ball recovery that took his teammates to the promised land.

After a brilliant steal, he served the ball to Christian Pulisic. The United States international saw Mason Mount coming on the other side of the box. After a clinical cross, the English midfielder scored the best goal of his career that took his beloved Chelsea to the Champions League final. But all the credit will go to N’Golo Kante’s brilliance. Thomas Tuchel will face the most powerful team of the season for the second straight year. Will the German coach get lucky this time?
