Man Utd refused to lose despite conceding a very late opener against the Blues.
Manchester United drew 1-1 against Chelsea in their Premier League game on Saturday. The Red Devils remained unbeaten for the sixth game, staying one point away from the top four.
Late drama at Stamford Bridge!
Man Utd made a brilliant start to the game, putting the hosts under immense pressure from both flanks.
Kepa Arizabalaga made a host of incredible saves, preventing the Red Devils from finding the back of the net.
United restarted their efforts to break the deadlock as soon as the second period started. But this time, Chelsea looked more and more dangerous as they found their feet in the game.
Following a few missed chances, the Blues earned a penalty through Scot McTominay’s foul on Armando Broja inside the box.
The Red Devils protested the decision, but that only resulted in a yellow card for Fred. Jorginho then converted the penalty by sending David De Gea the wrong way.
United immediately started their attacks to snatch the equalizer, crossing as many balls as they could inside Chelsea’s box.
Following an assist from Luke Shaw, Casemiro scored United’s dramatic equalizer with a flying header in the 94th minute.
Kepa retrieved the ball and prevented it from touching the net, but the goal-line technology saved United’s crucial point.
The Red Devils will return to Europa League to meet Sheriff Tiraspol this Thursday, while Chelsea lock horns with RB Salzburg two days earlier.
