Stamford Bridge was the place where Arsenal visited Chelsea in a new Premier League match. We have tonight’s player ratings.

Contrary to previous games, Arsenal couldn’t afford to risk losing today’s match against Chelsea in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta might love possession-based game all he wants, but he also knows when his players need to protect a result. Luckily, they were able to find an early goal at Stamford Bridge and he immediately demanded his players to take good care of the defense.

Emile Smith Rowe scored the only goal of the game during the 16th minute after an assist from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. From that moment forward, Thomas Tuchel’s boys weren’t able to get that equalizer. A great deal of today’s lower level of performance was N’Golo Kante’s absence. The Blues are an entirely different squad with and without the Frenchman. But Tuchel needs to rest the best player he has for the Champions League final.

Arsenal still has a shot at European glory.

With this result, the Gunners still have a shot at Europa League football for next season. They reached 55 points that place them in the eighth position on the table. West Ham United remains in fifth place with 58 but with 35 matches played. Whereas the Gunners only have two games left in the calendar. The Gunners seem steady on their way to getting the final six points of the season as they travel to Crystal Palace and close the season vs Brighton.

As far as the Hammers go, they play Brighton and West Brom Away. Only to close the season against Southampton at home and see if they play the Europa League. Chelsea remain comfortable inside the Top Four, a massive achievement in a rocky season that ended in spectacular fashion for them. They still have to play the FA Cup and Champions League finals with chances to win both titles.
