Kylian Mbappe struck in added time to give PSG a well-deserved 1-0 win in the first leg against Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a 94th-minute winner from Kylian Mbappe to beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie.

Angel Di Maria had a brilliant chance to give the hosts the lead but was unable to keep his shot under the bar.

Mbappe had an effort saved by Thibaut Courtois, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side dominated the game throughout the 90 minutes.

The Frenchman had yet another chance in the opening minutes of the second half but his powerful effort was dealt with brilliantly by Courtois.

All eyes were on the 23-year-old who is reportedly close to joining Los Blancos at the end of the season once his contract expires with PSG.

Madrid looked threatening late on, pushing forward, and looking to break the deadlock, but it was Mbappe who had the final say in the game.

The two sides meet again in three weeks at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Carlo Ancelotti hoping his side can find their mojo, after winning just one of their last five games.
