Liverpool progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League despite losing 0-1 to Inter on Tuesday.

Liverpool are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League despite losing 0-1 to Inter in the second leg of their round-of-16 clash.

Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal of the game, an absolute screamer to give Inter a much-deserved win, but Simon Inghazi’s side were unable to find a second goal.

This was Liverpool’s first loss at Anfield since March 2021, when they lost to Fulham. Jurgen Klopp’s side went an incredible 28 games unbeaten at home.

The Reds came close to opening the scoring on the night with Joel Matip heading the ball against the crossbar and Mohamed Salah hitting the post.

However, Liverpool came into the game with a two-goal lead, and seemed comfortable enough throughout, even after Lautaro’s goal.
