Robert Lewandowski scores fastest Champions League hat-trick as Bayern crush Salzburg.

Bayern Munich beat RB Salzburg 7-1 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with Robert Lewandowski scoring the fastest hat-trick in the history of the competition.

The striker scored a 22-minute hat-trick in the second leg of the clash at the Allianz Arena.

The 33-year-old gave his side the lead from a spot-kick in the 12th minute, and followed it up with another penalty after he was brought down in the box by Maximilian Wober. He got his hat-trick soon after and set a new Champions League record.

Salzburg were made to pay for their defensive errors throughout the game – a start contrast from the team that held Bayern to a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
