Villarreal beat Bayern Munich to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals.

Villarreal beat Bayern Munich 2-1 at the Allianz Arena in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.

The six-time European champions were knocked out by Unai Emery’s side, and they can have no complaints about the final score. The Bundesliga giants were lucky to lose 1-0 in the first half, and despite taking the lead via a Robert Lewandowski goal, failed to capitalise on their good fortune.

Samuel Chukwueze levelled the scores in dramatic fashion to give the visitors the lead on aggregate and sealed an historic win for his side.

Emery’s side will now face either Liverpool or Benfica in the next round, which the Reds lead 3-1.
