The Brazil international gets a real thrill out of every opportunity he gets to participate in the premier club competition in Europe.

Gabriel Jesus made his debut in the Champions League in September 2017, just about a month after joining Manchester City in a €33 million transfer from Brazilian side Palmeiras.

The striker immediately made his mark in the competition as he commemorated his first appearance with a goal.

He certainly enjoys European nights as he now boasts a tally of 15 goals, one of which has come this season, in 25 games in the biggest club competition of all.

Jesus will have a taste of Champions League action very soon with Manchester City set to take on FC Porto on Tuesday in matchday 5 of Group C, and he is eagerly awaiting it.

“When I’m in the tunnel waiting to go onto the field and I hear the song, I get very emotional,” Jesus told in an interview for November’s issue of the Champions Journal.

“I remember my past, when I wanted to be a football player. I would sometimes skip school to watch some games – I hope my mother doesn’t see this interview!

“To be able to play today, to make my mark in this competition, makes me very happy.”
