Ace Football presents detailed betting tips on the upcoming Champions League games of the week.

As we prepare for another week of Champions League football, our experts take a look at the bookmakers’ predictions for the upcoming matches.

Let’s check out three betting tips for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

Don’t expect too many goals when Liverpool meet Benfica

Liverpool have not shown any signs of slowing down in their relentless chasing of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. They claimed an easy 2-0 win over Watford to take their points tally to 72, one point behind the Citizens.

However, before facing Pep Guardiola’s team in their title-deciding clash next weekend, the Reds must lock horns with Benfica in the Champions League.

The Portuguese giants come into the game on the back of their 3-2 defeat against Braga. However, we expect them to stay more cautious defensively against the Reds. Prior to the Braga game, none of their last four games had more than three goals, with a 1-0 win over Ajax securing their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have kept a clean sheet in their last five league games, enjoying an incredible defensive form. We don’t expect either side to find simple ways of scoring on Tuesday.

Expect goals on both ends when Chelsea meet Real Madrid

The two sides had different returns to their respective domestic leagues after the international break. Real Madrid managed to bounce back from their heavy Clasico defeat with a narrow win over Celta Vigo. Karim Benzema converted two penalties while the Blancos looked much-improved upfront with the Frenchman in their ranks.

On Wednesday, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will travel to London to meet Chelsea. The Blues suffered a shock defeat against Brentford that ended their six-game winning streak across all competitions. Despite their poor performance against the Bees, we still expect the Blues’ backline to get enough goalscoring opportunities against Real Madrid.

On the other hand, the current form of Karim Benzema and Chelsea’s defensive performance on Saturday convince us that the guests will also find the back of the net in the upcoming game.

Don’t expect goals when Villarreal host Bayern Munich

It’s always risky when you bet against Bayern Munich’s goalscoring chances in the Champions League. But, it is also impossible to not take any risks when you bet on UCL.

The Bundesliga champions crushed Freiburg 4-1 on Saturday, increasing their top-of-the-table lead to nine points. Leon Goretzka made a perfect return to Bayern’s lineup. However, it is unclear whether Julian Nagelsmann would start him against Villarreal.

We expect the Bundesliga giants to have the upper hand against their Spanish opponents. However, they will most likely take a more careful approach to the game, trying to avoid conceding the first goal at all costs.

On the other hand, Villarreal’s poor attacking form in their last two games will force them to depend on counter-attacks. Let’s see if they can be clinical enough to end their run of two goalless games on Wednesday.
