Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered a knee injury and is in doubt of recovering just in time for the start of next season.

Injuries have never been kind with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

For all of the promise shown in the early stages of his career at Arsenal, his potential was dwindled by lots of recurring injuries.

Oxlade-Chamberlain missed a decent amount of game-time when his last injury kept him on the sidelines for 11 months.

His latest knee injury is not all that gruesome but he is expected to keep him out for a while regardless.

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp confirms Oxlade-Chamberlain will definitely miss the Community Shield against Arsenal on the 29th of August.

With the Premier League set to begin just two weeks later, Klopp is tight-lipped on how long the midfielder will be on the sidelines.

Klopp told the Reds’ official website: “Really unfortunate. An unfortunate situation as well; it was a challenge [in training].

“It looks like it is very similar to what Hendo had, which keeps him out for we don’t know for sure exactly how long, but for sure this pre-season he will not make a game, Arsenal for sure not and then we will see. The next game is probably two weeks later, but I don’t know.”

“We have to wait but it is far away from being perfect, of course. It is really hard for him and hard for us, but it is not to change.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain will now be hoping the injury is not all that serious and will not require surgery on his road to recovery.
