Barcelona will look to make it two wins out of two in the new campaign but their upcoming opponents are well capable of causing an upset.

Celta Vigo have had a fairly enjoyable new campaign so far – having successfully avoided defeat in each of their last three league games. However, their determination to remain unbeaten will face a tough test on Thursday night.

The new era under Ronald Koeman gave a quite positive initial impression as FC Barcelona ran out as 4-0 winners in their opening matchday of the 2020/21 LaLiga season. A repeat of their last performance, however, will be difficult against their upcoming opponents who on several occasions in the past that have attested that they should not be taken lightly.

Celta Vigo vs Barcelona Form:

The home side will go into the match with elevated morale as they have Iago Aspas up and firing. Celta’s prolific captain has scored all their goals this season.
Aspas has also proved to be a thorn in Barca’s defense time and again, boasting a solid record of netting seven times in his past nine league outings against them.

The away side have ample firepower of their own. Ansu Fati, who scored twice in the last match, is expected to be hungrier than ever to find the back of the net.
Perhaps something to worry about is their defensive woes. Barca have conceded in six of their last 11 matches and have taken in 11 goals in their last four matches.

Celta Vigo vs Barcelona Head-to-Head:

The head-to-head record is another aspect that tends to favor Celta in tonight’s clash. They have not let Barca get away with a win on each of their last six visits to Estadio de Balaidos.

Only at the Santiago Bernabeu have the Catalan giants lost more league games than at Balaidos this century.

Celta Vigo vs Barcelona Team News:

Koeman will not be a very happy man during his team selection for the match. Marc-Andre ter Stegen, one of their best performers of last season, remains out with injury. Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite are sidelined.

As for Oscar Garcaa Junyent, he will have to make do in the absence of David Junca, Ruben Blanco, and Sergio Alvarez.
