Mikel Arteta wants Dani Ceballos to join the Emirates Stadium on a permanent deal but the midfielder’s future remains uncertain.

Real Madrid began their preseason training, with Dani Ceballos participating in the exercises.

The Capital club are looking to reduced their first-team squad members and Ceballos is seen as a luxury at Santiago Bernabeu. Arsenal want to sign him but there is a difference in their valuation of the player.

Meanwhile, Ceballos continues to fan the flames of a London return. The midfielder showed his support for the Gunners and celebrated Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal in the Community Sheild.

“VAMOS @Aubameyang7 @Arsenal,” Ceballos posted on Twitter.

The Spain international also celebrated the winning penalty and posted a short video on his Twitter account.

Arsenal too want a reunion with Ceballos, with Mikel Arteta sharing his intent on adding the player to his ranks.

“Well, we have some talks and Dani knows really well what I think about him,” Football London quoted Arteta.

“He was pretty clear with me as well that his intention was to remain with us but obviously Real Madrid is involved and I don’t know yet what they want to do with the player.

“But he’s a player that we are interested in because we really saw, in the last few months of the season, what he is capable of bringing to us.”
