Limited opportunities forced the playmaker to opt for pastures new two years ago but now he’s reunited with Los Blancos.

Dani Ceballos is keen on staying at Real Madrid and is ready to “fight” to become a regular in the team.

Ceballos’ first season on loan at Arsenal, though not very exciting, was promising. His second campaign in north London, however, proved to be a torrid one as he managed just 17 starts in the Premier League owing to fitness issues and competition for places.

The Spaniard should now expect the situation to be any different at Real Madrid, with the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro, and Martin Odegaard set to provide him competition for a spot in midfield.

There have been talks Carlo Ancelotti is considering leaving the 24-year-old out of his plans for 2021-22, but the player is desperate to prove his worth to the Italian manager.

Ceballos told AS: “I really want to win at Real Madrid, I’ll fight to stay here.

“The experience with Arsenal in the Premier League made me stronger, now it’s time to win at Real Madrid.

“It’s clear, I would like to play at Real Madrid. But I have to know what the coach wants and there have to be objectives. But my intention is to play the coming year at Real Madrid.

“With the arrival of Ancelotti, the span of a midfielder is wide, because he plays 4-3-3 and at times with one of the wingers coming inside.

“It is going to depend on my return, of the state of form I am in and the chat that we have. From there, what I am very clear about is I want to play and I have to earn it on the pitch to make it difficult for the coach.”
