The Brazil international leaves Real Madrid on the back of a glorious nine-year spell.
Casemiro has opened up on his departure from Real Madrid, thanking the Blancos fans for creating ‘the most wonderful story’.
Manchester United confirmed on Friday that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign the five-time Champions League winner.
Casemiro arrives at Old Trafford on a reported £60m deal as United hope to add more stability to their out-of-form midfield line.
“I have lived the most wonderful story that I ever thought,” Casemiro wrote on his social media channels.
“I hope to return one day to what will always be my home. Not in a thousand lifetimes will I be able to give back to Real Madrid all that you have given me. Forever… Hala Madrid!”
Casemiro’s midfield partner Luka Modric reacted to Casemiro’s move on Instagram: “What a journey! We had a lot of fun and we made history together. Will miss you my friend.”
Real Madrid lose a cornerstone of their well-known midfield unit, hoping to replace Casemiro with newly-arrived Aurélien Tchouaméni.
At Old Trafford, Ten Hag will most likely use Casemiro’s experience to rebuild United’s midfield. Let’s see if the new signing would end the Red Devils’ interest in signing Barca’s Frenkie de Jong.
