Liverpool have arguably the best attacking trident in European football but do not have capable deputies to stand in for them.

Marcelo Bielsa is the first man to attempt Liverpool’s downfall in the 2020/21 Premier League season. The Argentine’s Leeds United travel to Anfield on their return to English top-flight football.

The Reds are comfortable in all areas of the pitch and Jurgen Klopp will be ready for the tactical battle. Liverpool are unbeaten in season openers under the German tactician and would love to continue that tradition.

More interestingly, it is Mo Salah who stands on becoming only the second Liverpool player to score in four season openers. He has opened his goal-scoring account in the three previous seasons.

The Anfield based entity probably have the best attacking trident in all of Europe. However, club legend, Jamie Carragher believes they need reinforcements in the department.

The footballer-turned-pundit is scared of the consequences an injury will have on their title defense ambitions. Carragher does not want to envision such circumstances and wants them to dip in the transfer market.

“I feel if one of the front three were to go down with a serious injury, that would really hurt Liverpool. They would find it really difficult to go on and win the league,” Football365 quoted Carragher.

“I think [they need] someone to really challenge the front three. It just needs that little bit of a freshen up, not so much the starting XI but just that little bit of impetus.

“Maybe if Thiago came in you’d say that he’d add something different but for me the front three is vital.”
