Jamie Carragher says questions must now be asked of Jurgen Klopp following a humiliating defeat to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Pressure is piling on Jurgen Klopp and it would be heated now more than ever, says Jamie Carragher.
The reigning champions have faltered of late and looked to have kick-started their season following back to back 3-1 win over Tottenham and West Ham.
However, Klopp and Liverpool took a step backward after a shock loss to Brighton at Anfield last time out.
Another humiliating loss on home turf means Liverpool are gradually slipping away from the title race. They were by far second best as Manchester City ended their 18-year run without a win at Anfield in style, courtesy of a 4-1 thrashing.
It is the first time Klopp finds himself in this kind of position as Liverpool manager. Carragher admits the pressure is truly mounting at the moment.
“I think this is the first time under Jurgen Klopp when real questions are starting to be asked,” said the former Liverpool center-back on Sky Sports.
“Be even more after this game. That manager and that team have done so much. As I said it’s the first time in five-and-a-half years it’s not really going to plan.”
