Eduardo Camavinga has ruled out the possibility of joining Real Madrid saying that he will be playing for Rennes next season.
17-year old Eduardo Camavinga enjoyed an impressive breakout 2018/19 season, making 36 appearances across competitions.
Camavinga put up several world-class performances and proved himself to be one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1. He was a driving force behind helping his side qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
But his development was cut short as French top-flight was forced to a premature ending due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, that did not stop him from getting recognition.
The midfielder has been linked with several European heavyweights, most notably Real Madrid.
Camavinga, who has a contract with Rennes until 2022, however, is in no rush for a change of scenery.
“I still have two years to run on my contract, and that’s why I will be staying with Rennes this season,” the teenager replied when asked about the speculations regarding his future in an interview with Telefoot [via AS].
“Interest from other clubs isn’t what made me change my mind about leaving. It’s football. There are always things said which are true and others which are not true.”
