The entire Real Madrid squad published photos wearing Camavinga’s sunglasses.

Edouardo Camavinga had to delete a viral photo showing the entire Real Madrid squad wearing his sunglasses.

The green-coloured pair of sunglasses became a sign of unity between Real Madrid players when Camavinga shared a photo of 26 of his teammates wearing them with different poses.

However, the original post, which was widely shared by Real Madrid fans, is now deleted after a brand conflict between Nike and Adidas.

According to Relevo, Camavinga’s sunglasses are from Nike, which is also his official sponsor. However, several other Real Madrid stars are in contract with Adidas, who are apparently furious with their players wearing Nike products.

Real Madrid are also an official partner of Adidas, from whom they receive around €120m per season. As is customary with such contracts, the Blancos players are explicitly prohibited from promoting rival brands in the team’s locker room.

The incident has triggered different responses from Real Madrid fans on social media.

“Cringe. We like seeing personalities in players. Stop making them be boring PR robots over image rights,” an X (Twitter) user wrote. Another fan simply responded: “This is business.”

Camavinga himself has yet to react after deleting the viral photo from his social media accounts.
