Cristiano Ronaldo produced a sensational performance to help the defending champions claim all three points at Sardegna Arena on Sunday.
Juventus beat Cagliari 3-0 to strengthen their hold of the Serie A third place and move back to within 10 points of leaders Inter Milan.
It was a Cristiano Ronaldo show as the Portuguese scored a first-half hat-trick to vent out his Champions League frustrations.
Ronaldo netted three times from his head, right foot, and left foot to hit a ‘perfect’ hat-trick in little more than 20 minutes.
He hadn’t scored in either of the legs in Juve’s Champions League last-16 clash with Porto but it took him just ten minutes to break the deadlock against Cagliari as he fired a header from six yards.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner doubled his side’s lead from the penalty spot 15 minutes later before completing his hat-trick with a superb finish at the 32-minute mark.
Giovanni Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, pulled one back for the hosts near the hour mark, but Juventus could comfortably walk away with all three points in the end.
