Not yet fit to take to the pitch, the English winger will miss the reunion with his former team at the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday.

Jadon Sancho will play no part in Borussia Dortmund’s upcoming clash with Manchester City, Edin Terzic has confirmed.

Sancho has been stuck on the sidelines for over a month now, having picked up a thigh injury in Dortmund’s 1-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals on March 2.

The 21-year-old has sat out seven of BVB’s games in all competitions, including the Champions League quarter-finals first leg against Man City.

He is now set to miss another crucial fixture as he won’t be able to help his side try and overturn the 2-1 deficit against the Premier League leaders.

“Jadon won’t be at our disposal, although he trained again,” Terzic told reporters, via Sports Illustrated.

“He is doing his best to return as fast as possible. We would like to have him with us tomorrow but he won’t be.

“We have to take our time with him. So, he is not an option for tomorrow but we hope it won’t last much longer for him before he comes back into the team.”

Sancho had a slow start to 2020-21 but was able to find the momentum as the season progressed. He remains a key member of the Dortmund team, having contributed 12 goals and 16 assists in all competitions so far.
